Professor Dr Peter Orton MMedSci, FRCGP, FRAeS - Aviation Medical Examiner

AME / NZ Immigration Panel Doctor / Offshore Medical Doctor.

Dr Peter Orton is uniquely placed in bringing a clear and full understanding of the difficulties facing pilots, Companies and individuals in relation to both Aviation and Corporate Medical Examinations.

Formerly a General Practitioner in the NHS for many years, and now practising privately, his experience allows him to provide a full range of medical services.

Peter is a current commercial pilot, holding a CPL and IR, and regularly flies a Cirrus SR22; recent flights have been across the Atlantic and into Spain and Poland.

He has trained extensively in the UK and USA to become an approved Aviation Medical Examiner and is a recognised AME for:-

UK CAA, IAA, FAA, CASA, NZ, South Africa, Canada, UAE, Hong Kong & Qatar.

Peter has an interest in stress and performance issues and provides a confidential counselling service.

Dr Marit Dunn MBBCH MRCGP - General Practitioner

Marit qualified and worked as a GP in South Africa before coming to the UK.She works as Uttlesford PCT’s locum GP and is a part-time GP in Great Dunmow.Marit specialises in our driving medicals at Aviation Medica, both taxi and HGV.She is married to a long haul airline pilot so complements our team perfectly.

Dr Nick Baylis, PhD (Cantab), C.Psychol., FRSA, Consultant Psychologist

Nick is a Consultant Psychologist, therapist & performance-coach, who lectures at Cambridge University in The Skills of Well-being and wrote a weekly column for The Times newspaper on The Science of Happiness. He teaches internationally at conferences on well-being and happiness.

Nick has been working at Aviation Medica for several years. He specialises in working individually with flight crew in areas of fatigue, exhaustion, anxiety and depression together with life coaching and well-being advice.

Maureen Farrell Jones - Nurse

Maureen has over 28 years experience in Acute and Community nursing, having worked in both General Practice and the hospital environment.
She now specialises at Aviation Medica in Travel Health and Medical Assessments.

Jenny Wade - Personal Assistant

Jenny is Dr Peter Orton’s Personal Assistant and looks after the administrative side of Aviation Medica. Jenny has an aviation background and spent many years as a VIP flight attendant on executive jets.
